Jewish Peoplehood

The WZO Va'ad Hapoel (General Council) voted to broaden and deepen its activities in the areas of Jewish Peoplehood. This may seem to be a given, yet it is the first time that the Zionist movement has chosen to officially use this term. In fact, there are leading forces in the WZO today that oppose using any term that advocates for the plurality of Judaism and Zionism - as if there is value only to Jewish life in Israel and as if there is only one way to be Jewish or Zionist.
This historic declaration, proposed by MERCAZ Olami, passed by a large majority of the votes (110 in favor, 31 against) and has become official WZO policy.
